We are only as good as the people who work here and it is important that you meet the team. We are fully aware of the long lead times required in planning events. We also value the knowledge and relationships which develop in the course of planning and operating conferences and incentives. The knowledge gained - both the harder technical issues and softer cultural aspects - is extremely valuable. For these reasons, we place great emphasis on core staff retention and look to create a working environment where people can work as a team, express themselves and grow and develop as individuals.
Nick Buckland – Director
I moved to South Africa from Britain, and co-founded Into Africa as a business in the early 90s. I had just completed an MBA at Cranfield Business School and was aware of South Africa’s strong tourism potential. The business has grown year on year and has developed through our partnership with &Beyond I strongly believe that the right staff appointments and the personal relationship with our clients, has been the core of our success together with careful planning and attention to detail.
Lut De Witte – Director
My career started in the hotel industry in Belgium. I then moved to Frankfurt in Germany and after working for a few years in Operations, I moved on to Sales & Marketing. I then worked in the Sales office of a worldwide English hotel chain. The areas I covered were Western Germany and the Netherlands. My job gave me the opportunity to travel worldwide and make good use of my language skills, which include fluency in German, Dutch, French and English. I decided to move to Cape Town permanently and joined Into Africa. Over the last few years the business has expanded and I have become a partner, seeing us successfully move into the conference and events arenas together with incentive travel.
Madelein Norval – Project Manager
I am originally from Namibia so I have first hand experience of this incentive destination with great potential and diversity. I studied tourism for 3 years and I've been with Into Africa since 1995. I have gained a wealth of experience during this time and have managed a huge variety of events as well as having two children along the way! I've worked closely with the Nordic markets and enjoy very good relationships with all of my clients.
Vicki Hartley – Project Manager

I am responsible for our Event and Registration Management Software. I enjoy creating large scale events – from concept through to the finishing touches
Frances Wilson – Project Manager
After studying Travel & Tourism I worked in Cape Town for an incentive company for a few years and then decided to spread my wings and travel abroad. Travelling overseas for 5 years was a fantastic experience for me as I gained valuable knowledge not only in the groups & incentive side of the industry but also in retail... and of course I took every opportunity to see the world! Travelling did make me realise that there was no place like home and so I returned to South Africa in 2004 and began working for Into Africa. I love working on an incentive programme as you see the event unfold from start to finish and it is always so rewarding when you see the guests enjoying what Southern Africa has to offer.
Silvia Rein – Project Manager
I am German and moved to Cape Town in November 2000 to join Into Africa's Team. With my studies in Business Management in Tourism and over 5 years of work experience in German incentive houses, I am responsible for the German speaking market. Originally I only wanted to work for Into Africa for 1 year to gain some overseas experience - well, I am still here - and I love it! Southern Africa is such a great incentive destination with growing potential, especially in the areas of conferencing and events!
Vicki Lavery – Project Manager
I joined Into Africa in 1995 after completing my BSC degree at UCT and gaining experience with a travel company working over the Rugby World Cup in SA. In 1997, the travel bug bit and I left for the UK where I worked and travelled for 3 years. On my return, I joined CC Africa as an FIT consultant and then started training staff on new systems and product knowledge for 5 years. I rejoined Into Africa early in 2006, as a project manager, and I am still project managing, but from the convenience of home so that I can spend time with my two children.

After 3 years of hotel school training I moved to a private game reserve where I worked as a conference coordinator, helping out in almost every department at the lodge in my free time, I then moved onto Sun City to further my career in events / incentives for two years. After having a taste of what events could be like I broadened my knowledge by leaving the resort and moving to Johannesburg where I worked as a groups consultant with the French Market. After a year that wasn’t challenging enough for me, and have now found my place as a Project Manager at Into Africa. I thoroughly love everything that events and incentives holds and definitely have a passion for it.
